THE reborn Sutton Town may be having to start life in the Central Midlands Premier
Division.
But player-manager Jason Blunt this week showed his determination to re-climb the
Pyramid as quickly as possible.
Blunt has pulled off a major coup by capturing the
signature of 30-year-old defender Matt Redmile.
The Nottingham-born defender began
his career at Notts County, and Shrewsbury Town paid £30,000 to take him to Gay Meadow
in 2000.
Since then Redmile has played at Scarborough and also Barnet, where he was
under England semi-professional manager Paul Fairclough, and received a call-up in
2004 to the England National Game squad.
He then moved on to Tamworth, where he scored
the winning goal against League One side Hartlepool United - a result which booked
the Lambs' place in the third round of the FA Cup.
Last season Redmile helped Hinckley
United to the Conference North Play-offs.
The Snipes are also understood to have recruited
former Barnsley player Chris Miller, who was playing Scottish football last season.

J.C.F. Colts have joined forces with the Snipes to help form a youth Academy
and will be playing under the name of Sutton Town A.F.C from this season.
Jeffries Community Football was formed in 2002 by Dawn and Colin Parsons,
together with Jeanette and Ian Worthington, with the aim to encourage young
people to participate in group activities and promote healthier lifestyles by
providing football training and participation in competitive football.
A measure of their success is that seven teams and more than 130 boys and
girls will be joining the Academy after J.C.F. Colts last presentation night on the
13th July 2007.
Dawn Parsons(Youth Secretary) Jeanette Worthington (Treasurer/Child Welfare
Officer) plus Colin and Ian have all joined the newly formed Sutton Town A.F.C.
Committee. The Snipes will be operating with ten teams (First Team to Under 9)
plus the junior section (from 4 years old) for the season 2007-2008, and
the Committee have pledged to introduce at lease three Ladies teams for the
season 2008 -2009.
The Club would welcome any further offers of sponsorship however small to help
establish the Academy.
